Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative

MGSM has become a member of the Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative (GLRI) which seeks to further ethical, values based leadership. GLRI was founded through a partnership of the United Nations Global Compact and the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and it involves business schools and companies from around the world developing a new generation of globally responsible leaders.

Professor Robin Kramar and Dr Grant Jones are active participants in a number of projects sponsored by the GLRI. One of these projects is developing the Company of Tomorrow. This project involves middle managers or emerging leaders who are working on specific projects to transform their companies so they can leverage off challenges and opportunities. These managers are able to collaborate with other managers and entrepreneurial facilitators to develop action plans for their projects. Another project is concerned with managers understanding of corporate social responsibility and sustainability.

MGSM’s involvement in the GLRI provides a unique opportunity to work with companies at the forefront of corporate social responsibility and leadership development. These include the Centre for Creative Leadership (USA, Europe and Asia), The Oasis School of Human Relations (UK), The Foresight Group (Sweden), CEIBS (China), Queen’s University (Canada) and Petrobas (Brazil).
